OFF THE WALL: An Art + Design Collaboration
What happens when an artist and an interior designer collaborate?
During May of 2015, Chestnut Hall decided to find out. Memphis Artist Hillary Butler draws inspiration from Interior Design, and Interior Designer Lana Zepponi is an art lover. Their collaboration sought to meld art and design, bring the art off the walls, and to consider art and design as equal, integrated components of a complete space. The back and forth between Hillary and Lana resulted in a colorful, modern, and importantly, artful interior, set up within Chestnut Hall. The design was inspired by Hillary's latest body of work, adorning the walls. The space featured upholstery by CR Laine, known for their fresh style, fine quality, and spirit of collaboration with artists and designers. With great design and art, snacks and drinks, and music from our new turntable, a fabulous time was had at the Reveal Party.
